We first staple up the 15lb roofing felt over the wall studs and metal lath on top to apply our first coat of mortar.
Services.... we are a mud set company, period...quality and nothing less!
Finished product
The finished product is obvious, straight, flat walls, perfectly plumb and square. This cannot be obtained with backer board or drywall and glue. This is REAL tile setting and how it was meant to be installed!

Scratch Coat
We then apply a thin coat of mortar over the metal lath and rake it so we can apply the final coat the next day and then set our tile.
